Dear Friends and Customers,

I've been setting the table for just about as long as I've been able to reach the top of it. But it wasn't until the Spring of 1989 that I became passionate about it. Surprised by the simple beauty of a placemat and napkin set I made for a friend, I was inspired to see what else I could bring to the table.

One year later, I was hand-painting over one thousand placemats and napkins for a very big store in New York City from a wooden table in my bedroom. I quickly found I couldn't fill the orders fast enough. Fortunately, New York is blessed with talent and I quickly found a handful of local artists, who continue to bring so much of their own exquisite talent to my designs, artfully rendering each piece a unique work of art.

We make these designs to go along with life, and are honored to hear that many are destined to become heirlooms. They're classic designs by nature, and by design, lend themselves to collecting. Made especially for spirited gatherings, be they casual or formal affairs, many of our friends and customers leave them out as 'table art', enjoying their beauty even between meals.

Because of the great care and the latest technology used in making all Carole Shiber Designs, you may live heartily with these otherwise very fine linens. Eat on them, spill on them, then simply wipe them clean.

It's our hope that this website provides you with a useful tool for easy ordering and displaying of our unique work. I've come to believe these designs come from heaven, and that they're made to bring a little more spirit to earth.
